| December 15, 2005 | Despite his immense qualifications and knowledge, not to mention his background and experience, UCSF has, for some unknown reason, not accepted Erich's application to their Nurse Practitioner Program. My best friend Kanya, who is attending the number one school in the nation for anthropology, was also rejected from UC, making me question even more the intelligence of the university for which I work. It's hard to imagine there being more qualified individuals, but, Erich is determined to pursue his desire to work in medicine.

| November 5, 2005 | Erich and I have finally started to move into the hallway/living room with our home renovations. Like always, things don't go as fast as we'd like them to (who thought it would take six hours to install two shelves!?!?). However, we hope to have all the painting and fixures (minus trim and crown molding) done by Thanksgiving.

| November 1, 2005 | Another Halloween gone without any trick or treaters!! Is it the "big city" that scares parents away or do people just not care about it anymore? It is a sad thing either way (well sad except for Erich who think he gets all the left over candy!)
|

| October 15, 2005 | I am in the middle of reading the book Collapse, which is an interesting look at the sustainability of human development through historical examples, such as groups on Easter Island and Greenland. But, it is an extremely dense book and is taking and inordinate amount of time to finish.

| August 5, 2005 | I just got back from helping my best friend Kanya move to Knoxville, TN to pursue her PhD in Anthropology. The move was quite an adventure and we did have some incidents along the way, but, it was great to see the country. Pictures can be found here. I can't believe that Kanya moved to Tennessee...Tennessee!!!

Despite his love of finances, Erich has finally decided to go back into medicine, where he believes his true desire lies and is hoping that the UCSF program will be the right place for him.

| May 29, 2005 | We finally...and I mean finally...finished our bathroom. When we started we did not have any idea how much that would take. But, we managed to completly replace the cabinet and sink, ripped out the carpet and linoleum, painted, installed tile, put up trim and crown molding, and replaced all the lighting fixtures. By our fifth weekend, we weren't sure it was worth it, but, once we get the pictures online, I think you will be able to see it was!

| May 16, 2005 | I have accepted and am now starting my new job at UC. I am now working in our Disability Unit and will be evaluating member's application and medical information for those who apply for disability income under our retirement plan to determine whether they qualify for disability benefits under our plan. It is a raise and a promotion, which is always good! However, I have moved to another floor, so, I do miss my coworkers from Customer Service.

| March 25, 2005 | We refinanced our house and will finally be able to begin work on our next room. We’re tackling the bathroom and our bedroom next. Mostly paint and trim in the bedroom and we’re replacing the sink and tiling in the bathroom. It should be interesting.

| March 5, 2005 | Erich is starting his new hobby, building a salt-water, reef aquarium. And he’s already driving my crazy! He’s like a little kid with a new toy. But, I have to admit, it is amazing to watch the biological process take places in the tank as it grows. There aren’t even any fish in it yet!
|
| February 28, 2005 | Sorry there haven’t been many updates recently. In February, I suffered a loss in the family. My wonderful Grandmother June lost her two year battle with cancer. She left well before her time and it is a great loss for our family. I will always remember the trips she would take my cousins and me on when we were younger and everyone to her was her favorite. I love you Grandma June!
