To celebrate our one year anniversary, Erich and Scott went to Monterey. It was this first time for both. We were only there for two days, but it was loads of fun. We spent our first day walking through downtown Monterey, and walking along the Warf. We strolled down the Pier, window shopped, and took a walk along the beach. |
On our second day, we started early with a walk along the Cannery Row. We saw the old Cannery Building and all the little tourist shops that lined the street. We also got to see some seal lions on some rocks. At the western end of the strip was the Monterey Aquarium. We spent a total of 4 hours in there. The most amazing section was that of the jelly fish. They were very beautiful and looked like silk floating in the water. |

Before we ended our weekend, we took a drive along the 17 Mile Drive. Aside from the beautiful mansion that lined the seaside golf course, there were many breathtaking views of the ocean along the way. We also got the chance to see the Lone Cypress, the definative symbol of Monterey. It was an incredible sight, although looking at it up close you can see how precariously placed it is on the cliff. We had a wonderful trip and a great anniversary. It's a place we'll definately visit again. |
