Las Vegas

Erich's company brought all it's employees to Las Vegas for their annual getaway, and Erich decided to bring Scotty along. We got to stay in a room at the Luxor (the pyramid), which was really nice on the inside. Our favorite place inside was the the souvenir shop that had all these Egyptian nick knacks. While we were in Las Vegas, we also walked around the Venetian (the inside was a little disappointing), saw the volcano erupt at the Mirage, watched the pirate show at Treasure Island, and walked our way through New York New York. Our next visit, we want to take time out to venture through Caesar's Palace.

The Eiffer Tower, Parisian

On our first night there, Erich decided to skip out on dinner with his company and we set out to walk along the Strip. We stopped off at the Parisian, where we took the elevator ride to the top. It gave us an amazing view of the city. The valley and the strip were all lit up, and we got to see the water and light show at the Bellagio from above. It was hard to get Erich to let go of the railing at the top though. He didn't want to get too close to the edge. The Eiffel Tower here is an exact replica, half the size of the real one in Paris. The top of this tower, is the same height as the lower observation deck of the real Eiffel Tower. Another attraction at the Parisian not to miss, the buffet. It was wonderful!

Our second night, we made another run up and down the Strip, this time joined by our roommate Allen. We all tried unsuccessfully to get into the Coyote Ugly bar at New York New York and then went down to the Venetian where we were going to take the boat ride through the hotel, but it was ridiculously expensive. By that time, we were so tired from walking down the Strip for about the tenth time, we thankfully caught the tram to the MGM Grand, right across the street from the Luxor. We did, however, have time to stop and get some homemade ice cream at Coldstone's. Nothing like it in the world!

The next day we headed home, not a long trip, but it was still a fun getaway. And to think, we spent two days there, and didn't gamble more than $10. What we did do was freeze, whoever said Vegas is always hot was obviously never there in January!
