Inside Passage |

This is the view from our room upon the morning of our first day. The ship cruised up through a series of beautiful islands, thick with large green trees. The inlet that we were traveling must have very deep as we cruised by the surrounding islands. The first thing we did as we got up was to run up to the morning buffet and enjoy a nice breakfast. |
For being a cruise ship, the room we had was pretty nice. Erich sent in for a free upgrade and we ended up with a balcony! The only bad thing is that Erich says he won't go on a cruise again, unless we get a balcony. Admittingly, it was really nice. |

We of course had buffet again for lunch. The food is pretty good. Not up to Las Vegas quality, but you can't deny the quantity. The scenery continued to amaze. The inside passage is chalk full of hundreds of islands. Every now and then, you could see a few houses, or a light house. These people are literally in the middle of nowhere. But, what a beautiful place to be. |
In the afternoon of our first day, Erich talked me into getting a massage on the onboard spa. What a wonderful thing it was. The masseuse kept saying how tense my back was, but, she certainly worked some of that out. I was so relaxed afterwards that I agreed to buy $80 worth of massage oil! Erich, though, after getting his massage and pedicure, ended up getting the same oil, plus bath salts (that I turned down!) and some sleeping oil. It was a nice relazing way to start the trip. |
